Hunt the Mouse

Historical report: November 2024. Three participants found the Hunt the Mouse gold coin associated with a S$500,000 prize in Bedok on 8 November 2024. This page records that completed event; it is not an announcement of an active hunt or an available prize.

What was reported

AsiaOne’s report of 9 November 2024, attributing the information to organiser Sqkii, identified the group as Wee Kiat, Edward and Erwin. It reported that the discovery occurred at 1.43am under a bench near Block 208 New Upper Changi Road.

Mothership’s report of 8 November 2024 also described the Bedok discovery and said Sqkii had completed its verification process before publicly confirming the result.

The prize belonged to that edition

AsiaOne described the 2024 edition’s total advertised prize pool as S$1 million, comprising the S$500,000 gold-coin prize and 300 silver coins with smaller prize amounts. Those figures belong to that event and should not be treated as terms for a later edition.

The reported discovery is the key distinction between an announcement that a hunt has begun and a report that its main prize has been found. Older messages about coins still being available can remain online after their context has changed.

How to interpret this archive

Check the event year and publication date when encountering an old result in search. A historical location is not a current search instruction. Any later event needs its own current organiser information and rules.

A treasure-hunt result also does not provide evidence that persistence predicts the outcome of an unrelated random gambling game. The earlier comparison on this page between the discovery and reliable gambling success was inappropriate and has been removed. The gambler’s fallacy guide explains why previous events should not be treated as a forecast of independent outcomes.
